Lightwater is situated in the North West corner of Surrey and has a population of almost 6,700.

Within the Surrey Heath Borough, it lies alongside its bigger neighbour - the town of Camberley, and several other small villages; Bagshot, West End and Windlesham.

Though mostly residential, Lightwater has a thriving village commercial centre, and vibrant home-based business community. Being adjacent to junction 3 of the M3 motorway, means it’s perfectly placed for easy access to airports, and the cities of Guildford and Reading.

The surrounding area is renowned for nursery and market gardening, due to its light, easily worked and free-draining soil, geologically known as Bagshot Sand.

Lightwater Country Park and Lightwater Leisure Centre
Lightwater is lucky to have the
Lightwater Country Park, nearly 60 hectares of protected rare lowland heathland. Within the Country Park is Lightwater Leisure Centre, with indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

Military Connections
The area has strong military connections, with the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst; Royal Logistic Corps headquarters at Deepcut; and the world renowned Bisley ranges, home to the National Shooting Centre operated by the National Rifle Association.
